E4TLI

EDUCATION FOR TECHNOLOGICAL LITERACY and INCLUSION

LLP Erasmus Multilateral Project

Project number: 2022-1-ES01-KA220-HED-000087144

September 2022 to August 2025

An opportunity you shouldn’t miss

E4TLI: TECHNOLOGY LITERACY and INCLUSION, aims at equipping partners’ research members, their students and society at a large for improving their skills and capabilities on Digital transformation

As we know, this is a time of rapid innovation and dissemination of technology, so there are naturally ramifications to being technologically illiterate. The COVID-19 crisis, has further accelerated the pace of technological innovation and consequently also widened this technological divide.

This is where the E4TLI comes in. The timing of the project couldn’t be more apt. The very aim of E4TLI is to bridge this divide between technologically handicapped high education stakeholders and Technologies 4.0 (Data Mining, Augmented reality, Virtual Reality, Streaming, Block Chain, Cybersecurity, Coding and software programming). More specifically, the aims of E4TLI are three-fold:

1. to improve technological literacy among technologically untrained/uneducated faculty members, students, mentors, university managers.

2. to collate practical recommendations from the implementation of the outlined projects for policy makers and companies to implement in their own professional spaces;

3. to disseminate knowledge on Technologies 4.0 for non-tech educational/training stakeholders.

Through E4TLI, the project partners aim to overcome multiple barriers, including but not limited to:

1. Barriers linked to education and training systems

2. Barriers owing to Geography

3. Barriers linked to discrimination

4. Barriers linked to ability

5. Barriers faced by Minorities

Project has been just launched. In the span of 3 years up to August 2025 Universidad Del País Vasco/ Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea (UPV/EHU), Instituto Politecnico Do Porto (IPP), Universidad De Navarra. School of Architecture (ETSAUN-UNAV), Eesti Muusika- Ja Teatriakadeemia (EMTA), Tajik State University of Commerce (TAJIK) and MBM Associates Planning and Sustaining Private Limited (MBM) will research on Data Science, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Streaming, Cybersecurity, Block Chain and Coding &Programming Software, respectively.

What is the E4TLI (EDUCATION FOR TECHNOLOGICAL LITERACY and INCLUSION)  project all about?

In a time of rapid innovation and dissemination of technology, there are ramifications to being technologically illiterate. The COVID-19 crisis, has brought about giant leaps on this arena and widened this already mammoth technological divide.

The aim of E4TLI is to bridge this divide between technologically handicapped high education stakeholders and Technologies 4.0. More specifically, the aims are three-fold:

  1. To improve technological literacy among technologically challenged faculty members, students, mentors, university managers;
  2. To collate practical recommendations from the implementation of the outlined projects for policy makers and companies to implement in their own professional spaces;
  3. To disseminate knowledge on Technologies 4.0 for non-technological education/training stakeholders.

Which barriers does E4TLI aim to overcome in its aim to bring technological literacy to one and all?

  1. Barriers linked to education and training systems: E4TLI bridges the gap between Technologies 4.0 and technologically illiterate High Education stakeholders.
  2. Barriers owing to Geographical: E4TLI includes developing countries (two project partners are from India and Tajikistan), ensuring both the creation of the output as well the diffusion of it isn’t limited merely to the Global North
  3. Barriers linked to discrimination: E4TLI will be instrumental in closing the tech gender gap as at least 70% of the tech-untrained High Education stakeholders are women. (Specifically, in the developing countries)
  4. Barriers linked to ability: E4TLI consortia includes high education stakeholders who have disabilities
  5. Barriers faced by Minorities: E4TLI prioritizes European Minorities For example, student minorities (immigrants, racial and religion divides, gender gap, students with limited mobility) will get first access to our training and output materials.

Who will the E4TLI project benefit?

In the short term;

  • University lecturers aiming at increasing their professional competences in technological literacy, especially in their teaching subjects.
  • University students aiming to increase their technological competences to increase their competences for increasing their employability
  • Minority students aiming to increase their technological competencies for increasing their chances of social and labor market inclusion and employability. They will participative and collaborate all along the different project activities
  • Policymakers engaged in the regulation of the education curricula.
  • University authorities in general
  • Educational stakeholders (e.g. Vocational and Educational Training VET)

In the long term;

  • Everyone who will be trained or be employed by or employ the people who have been through this programme. We envision a massive multiplier effect of this programme worldwide. Society in general will benefit from the increased awareness on the need for technological literacy.
